Kismet is a keen strategic thinker and detail-oriented professional who can juggle multiple priorities and projects while keeping her eye on new opportunities. She joined Sherwood in May 2008 to expand clients' education and accreditation programs, bringing to these efforts a forward-thinking approach to new technologies, a thorough understanding of continuing education priorities and the ability to communicate clearly and logically across audiences.
Kismet thrives on challenges and new ideas. She is committed to expanding distance education possibilities; encourages efficiency in abstract submission, review and speaker management activities; and brings integrity to accreditation/certification programs and documentation.
Kismet has more than a decade of experience as a public relations consultant, working primarily with authors and speakers. She is a former director of an intensive English language institution and has led accreditation projects for various education programs. Kismet has been an instructor for Harper College in Palatine, Ill., since 2005.
Kismet earned a B.A. in political science from Roosevelt University, Chicago, and an M.S. in education from Shenandoah University in Virginia. She also holds additional certifications in distance education (University of Wisconsin), technical and professional writing, and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
She has helped to develop distance learning programs for several of Sherwood clients over the past three years to include self-study courses, video-based learning, webinars, self-assessments, and other courses for continuing education and professional development. Kismet also manages Sherwood's internal training and professional development program.
